Misfit cousins reunite for a tour of Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when old tensions between the odd couple resurface amid their family history. When Benjy and David visit their grandmother’s home in Poland, the place is where Jesse Eisenberg our real ancestors settled in the diaspora.. David Kaplan: No, it’s not, that was our country. They kicked us out because they thought we were cheap.. 12 Etudes, Op. 25, No. 3 in F major, written by Frédéric Chopin, performed by Zvi Erez. I think the only reason I watched this movie was Kieran Culkin. What can I say, I love Succession.
Both actors do a great job, especially Culkin
And I certainly got more than what I originally expected. It’s clear that this movie was written from the heart, and Jesse Eisenberg’s script is definitely strong, with some great dialogue and constant different interpretations of the phrase 'True pain.' Benjy and David have very compelling arcs and the rest of the characters, while not three-dimensional, have plenty of time to shine, James in particular. As for directing, Jesse Eisenberg does well in his debut. The film is well shot and although there isn’t much in terms of variety, the film evokes a simple yet realistic tone. Eisenberg tackles some strong themes and I believe he does it well. I’m amazed at some of the things he was able to capture on location, which makes some of the emotions even stronger. But of course, the strongest aspect of this film is the performance and dynamic between Eisenberg and Culkin.

Benjy’s character is really compelling throughout the film as the audience constantly sees the results of his grief and David’s reactions to them further strengthen their relationship. Even though they’re cousins in this movie, they really feel like brothers reconnecting. Overall I had a good time with this movie. I doubt it will blow anyone away, and there are no moments of extreme catharsis, but everything it does, it does pretty well.
